LuckyDevil Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 I have searched the old posts and couldn't find anything telling me what this little thing is on top of the carb? It has a few electrical terminals on it, but I don't know where those wires are supposed to come from. I believe the choke is on the back, and a sisson choke is mounted to the manifold so that's not it either. Also, there is a relay mounted to the air cleaner support brace that I think connects to the piece on the carb, but I'm not sure how. Does any of you guys have a wiring diagram for this monster. It is a 53 Windsor Deluxe. Thanks for all the help. p.s. I don't have a manual yet cuz I just got the car home yesterday. Quote
DonaldSmith Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 It's the "anti-stall magnetic lockout", something for the klunk-o-matic transmission setup, to keep the rpm from dropping too quickly. There should also be a kickdown switch, to downshift when the accelerator pedal is floored. Quote
adam_knox Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 If you look in the Photo Gallery a while back I posted the wiring diagram for the 49-53 Chrys (under manuals or electrical or something like that). Not sure the anti-stall is listed in the diagram, but I imagine it would be referenced in there. The wiring harness should probably give ya' a good guess as where it goes, as there isn't a whole lot of play room on variations. Good luck, if you have trouble message again and I'll get out to the car with a camera. Quote
greg g Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 If you go to the All Par site and look at the flathead section there is a decent picture of the underhood of an early 50's chrysler. Don't know if you can see al the wires and where they go but it should give you a good idea. I would post a pic but all par doen't let you pick pictures and copy them anymore. Quote
