aero3113 Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 I have read in some posts that you adjust the cams till the wheel stops than back off so there is slight drag on the brakes. Is this correct? Quote
RobertKB Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 That's what I do. Just a very slight drag, especially if new. Quote
aero3113 Posted October 19, 2009 Author Report Posted October 19, 2009 That won't cause excessive heat build up? Or do the brakes really need to be dragging for that? Quote
Niel Hoback Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Its more of a sound than an actual drag. Listen for the swishing sound, it wort be enough to make the wheel slow down and stop, just enough to let you know that the shoes are out there next to the drums. Adjust by ear instead of feel. Quote
laynrubber Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 I have done mine once and i did it by sound and feel. Listen for the gentle scrapping and spin the wheel and i backed it off just one more "touch". Pedal was great and even braking so far. Quote
