BeBop138 Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 I am not a math guy----what would be the cubic inches of a 265 bored 40 over? Trying to determine total cfm`s needed for the engine to run it`s best...............Thanks...........Lee Quote
LuckyDevil Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 I don't think there is a whole lot of difference. If I remember correctly a 350 bored out 60 over is a 355, so cfm should be about the same, that is if you are talking about the cfm flow of the carb. What is the factory bore and stroke? That would be helpful in figuring it out. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 265 is original CID ..you would need the original bore plus the .040 and the stroke to get it accurate..there will not be significant increase to alter the stock CFM..unless you are installing a deep breathing cam and high lift larger valves..and even then the jet may be your only real consideration there.. martybose Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 Well, if memory serves my 230 bored .072" over stock comes out at 237 cubic inches, so I would guess that a 265 .040" over would be around 269 ci, give or take ..... Marty Quote

Tim, your probably right---even with the 260-410 cam and the Carter-Webers, jetting may be all it needs......Thanks Quote
