I recently bought a 1957 dodge 4 door dodge cornet. THINK CHRISTINE LIKE It turns out that the old dodge had a flathead 230 from 1954 and a stock dodge 2 barrel carb complete with air cleaner. I removed the intake-exhaust manifold and carb to maybe put on my 1956 plymouth 230. I currently have the plymouth 230 in my 1950 Fargo 1/2 ton. Has anyone tried this setup in a pilothouse dodge?

Dale thats a good find. I've got one myself minus linkage and air cleaner. A pic of the air cleaner would be great. I'm hoping to install mine in a 40 plymouth pickup but I haven't gotten started at all on it. From what I've seen the truck linkage is fairly similar to the car linkage for the 2bbl so it might be doable. The 2bbl car linkage mounts on the head and I believe also pushed forward on the carb.

I would appreciate some pictures if you have them. I have a 2bbl intake, but no carb or linkage. Also, I don't think they had the 2bbl in 54, so I'm thinking it was on the 57 engine and installed on the 54 when it was put in the car. Car linkages mount on the head and work across the head. Truck linkages mount behind the block and along the passenger side working forward, but you should be able to work something out. Nice find, I envy you!

I will be putting a 230 with 2B carb in my B2B later this year. The intake bosses will have to be tapped for the truck linkage, which comes up from the passenger side rather than across the head. Not sure how I'll do the linkage from there - may have to spin the carb around and mount it backwards.
