Yes Gary Jr and Gary Sr, are nice guys compared to the competition, namely AB. But Roberts products are good, I have some of there rubber products, there igniton wire sets, and the clip on side mirrors have a lot to be desired. There rubber is definately no the quality of Steele Products, but then Robert's prices are a lot less......

I have to agree. I've had good luck with Roberts. I would stay away from their rubber products, though. I've got some stuff from them I just bought a couple years ago that's already splitting and cracking. Decent guys to deal with, though. The only thing I like about Andy B. is his web site. I find his index the easiest to use of all the vendors online. Michael, when you're looking for parts, you could use Andy's parts index to get an idea of the going price, even if you aren't going to buy it from Andy B.

Unless I'm mistaken, anything you can find at Andy's you can find with the other vendors too. I didn't notice a great deal of price difference between him and anybody else. It has been a long time since I've dealt with him, though. I avoid it unless I have no alternative.

Surely he has some items for under $100 . . .

In A B's defense, I just recently purchased new wheel cylinders from him....and they

fit perfectly. Had to get them to use instead of ones from O'Reilly, due

to the shape of the indent in the piston.....theirs was for a pointed end

rod, which I did not have. The ones Andy had were for the rounded

end rods.

He had the items in stock, next day shipping.....price was reasonable.

He is the only place I've been

able to find wheel cylinders for my 1939 (pre-war) Mopar rear brakes someone put

on the car after it's accident years ago. Those cylinders were about

$50 each last time I bought some.

However, some things I would not buy from him based on testimony from other people.

Actually Andy carries many parts for my '35 that I can't find anywhere else. He seems to have the best selection of parts for cars of my year.

I also bought wheel cylinders from AB and they work great. So far I've been lucky on stuff I bought from them.

There was a nice article I just read in the August 2009 "Hemmings

Classic Car" magazine about the father who founded Roberts, and his

son who is now getting more into running the place.

They have some items reproduced......still have a stock of N O S stuff

gotten from old dealers and garages on the East coast in years gone

by. They express an interest in people's project cars......and even like

to see pictures of the finished product they sold parts for.

I've bought parts from both Andy and Roberts-no complaints
