roofdown Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Anyone got some good tips/tricks for how to use an oem parts list book to locate parts? I just got a parts list book for my 41 D-19. I did a few Google searches on part #'s and nothing comes up. I'm guessing that maybe I need to take these original part #'s and cross-reference against newer numbers somehow? What's the best way to find out whether a part is still being produced (ex. brake hoses) and can be picked up at a local parts store?....vs. the part is obsolete and I'll need to watch eBay or do a rebuild? Advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Garrett Quote
TodFitch Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Try going to http://www.napaonline.com/ and clicking on the "SEARCH NAPA CATALOG using PartsPRO SE" link. Enter your Chrysler/Mopar part number, click on the "interchange" radio button then click on search. An amazing number of things are still available. You can even get a start switch for a 1933 Plymouth from NAPA by using this technique even though they don't show anything if you search for that old a Plymouth. I don't have a parts book for P19, but a P15 front wheel brake hose is Chrysler part 1137710. NAPA Online SE Pro search show that as part "UP 10595" from their "NAPA Ultra Premium Brake Parts" line. roofdown Posted September 21, 2009 Author Report Posted September 21, 2009 Thanks for the tips guys. I ran some tests and looked up what I thought would be common parts (e.g. brake hoses, master cylinder, fuel pump, muffler, etc.)....unfortunately, I got zero hits on Napa, but I did get a couple of hits on PartsVoice.
