Shel,

About the only thing of real value may be that matching pair of NY license plates. It's hard to find an old set of plates with matching numbers like that. If you can remember which car they were in, you should take them home with you if the price is right.

If you have a large inventory..might be cheaper than vinyl siding...

I have a set of Texas plates here 1966 front and year...I am not sure if Texas will allow YOM that year or if we have a Texas reader here...but if interested..PM me...also got a set of blak and yellow california tags..should have the registration card yet also if I look hard enough...came on my 49 Plymouth...

i have one 1934 calif. plate. found it in a riverbed when i was stationed out there in 1971. it is beat up as it was pretty much buried when i found it. is one plate good enough for that year? anyone interested in it? probably better off on a calif mopar than in my garage. dennis

In order to use YOM plates in a state with two plates, you need both. Think California is one of those states. Plate collectors will also pay more if you have a matching pair since they are hard to find. Plus, that pair that Shel posted looked in good shape except for the paint. Those are really hard to find. I don't collect plates myself. I do have a matching pair of SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Paris, France) plates from 1966 hanging in the garage though. Had them on my car while stationed there and kept them. One collector said he had never found a matching pair of those in good shape like mine. Never said what they were worth either, but they're not for sale anyway.
