Boy that smoke looked just like our Mount Saint Helen when she blew her top 25 years ago. My mom had a house over in Kagel Cayon and I do not know if that area was hit by this fire storm. Good luck and dam it must smell down there with all that smoke.

Actually, I live in the next valley over and we aren't getting the smoke, but we can see it in the air. Yesterday at dusk, it was kind of eerie to see the mountains right above us so dark from the smoke. It was a massive smoke cloud that gave thye moon an odd orange glow all night.

The thread is getting cold - thought I'd sneak in a few pictures before it goes away.

The air tankers were flying right over our house. Very impressive. Especially the big jet - I think it was a DC 10.

I don't know how the picture of the car got in there...

When we got the order to evacuate I put in on the street and was ready to hook up the tow bar. No way would I leave that behind. It's finally finished after 7 years.

The other is just smoke - lots of smoke and ash.

Hi don, i just got recrutied to go up by ya and pick up our friends horse trailer and go to the fair grounds and pick up their horses and bring them back home for them, they got evacuated at 5:00 in the morning on sunday, and the week before someone ran into their pick up and it is in the shop so the humane department hauled them to the fair grounds for them, now i get to be the first to haul them with their new trailer(they got it last fire to move the horses but it is buried in the back ) the smoke the past few days is getting old, i am to old and fat to work in these conditions!!

I just read all the postings in one sitting! glad you are good Don and glad the cars are also ok! may I suggest you hook all your cars like a train and be ready just in case!
