i am working hard for the last weeks to put the 40 back together.

there's a hot rod 1/8 mile race for traditional rods and customs up to 1955 nearby that i want to visit in the beginning of september, but i don't know if i'm going to make it.

still lacking brake parts, flashers and other stuff to get street legal.

here are a few pictures, with the new WWs on. i really didn't know if i liked them at first... getting better.

:D i'd love to, but can't afford leaving the country for my rusty friend out there has eaten all my money:rolleyes:

you sold the rod you had a picture of in your resto thread?

i'll keep my eyes open, would be fun to see it live.

can't wait to see more of the coupe!

Even if you don't make the drags, it a great motivater isn't? Personally I love White Walls. Great looking car.

thanks all, glad you like it!

there was nothing to be done to the upholstery, the car is 1.hand, bought by a gentleman in arkansas in 1940. as far as i know and remember correctly, he drove it till 1999, then died. his widow kept it till 2004, then gave it to some relative who stored it in his garage planning to hot rod it (thank god he didn't). a car dealer from kansas picked it up in 2008, put it on oldrides.com, and that's where i came in. 78000miles on the car, and still the original seat covers from the dealer on it:cool:

it came here, i put some air on the tires and fuel in the tank and it fired right up!

i gave it a complete new wiring with an original style braided wire harness, the brakes are in progress right now, the speedo was overhauled, the carb got new gaskets and jets, new tires... didn't have to weld anything.

now i am waiting for some parts and cables, to finish the brakes and install the signals and flasher.

can't wait to drive again:D

@joe: yes, that's her. i did a screen print poster of her once, that's one of them. i tried to put up a brand of hot rod style t-shirts, but failed... still love the poster.
