Anchor28 Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Hi, I recently purchased a 1948 Dodge B1B with hopes of restoring it. It's actually pretty solid and it runs and drives but the brake wheel cylinder needs to be rebuilt or replace so it doesn't have brakes right now. I've only owned the truck for a couple of months (impulse buy) and I haven't had the money or time to try doing anything to it so I think it's time to sell it to someone that can actually fix it up. I think the only things that aren't original to the truck are the seat and the fact that it's been modified to 12 volt power. One other thing that I thought was a little strange is that the metal plate inside the door with the serial number and model number is all in Spanish except the word "Detroit" in the line that says where the truck was made. I'm guessing the truck was made in Detroit to be sold in Mexico?? But I could be wrong. I don’t know if that makes the truck any more or less rare/valuable or anything but I haven't seen any other ones like it before. I paid $2,500 for the tuck and I'd like to sell it for $2,500 but I'd probably take an offer that's at least close to that price. I'm located about 40 minutes north of Minneapolis, MN. The truck was purchased from Montrose, SD Please email me with any questions or comments. I have a few more pictures I can send too if anyone is interested. Thanks, Adam aseiberlich@yahoo.com Quote
Reg Evans Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 The data plate is very interesting. Never heard of one like that either. Wish I had a spare $2500. What's the engine number stamped on the block just above the front freeze plug on the drivers side ? Quote
Young Ed Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Reg I'd be happy to baby sit until you got up here. With the spanish data plate I was expecting it to be in CA or TX. MN was sure a surprise. Quote
Anchor28 Posted August 12, 2009 Author Report Posted August 12, 2009 $1,750 anyone? Reg, I'll try and remember to look for the engine number tonight. Quote
Anchor28 Posted September 17, 2009 Author Report Posted September 17, 2009 Ok, it's been a while since I originally posted this but I've been waiting for the title to come in the mail. It came today so I've got a clear title. I found this number on the engine block. Not sure if it's the number Reg was talking about. D42-173958E Adam Quote
Reg Evans Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Yes....that's the one. The engine is from either a 51 or 52 Dodge car and has 230 cubes. Quote
Anchor28 Posted October 9, 2009 Author Report Posted October 9, 2009 I would really like to get rid of this before the snow comes so I can park in my garage. $1500? That is absolutely as low as I can go. Adam aseiberlich@yahoo.com Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 Put it on eBay. I sold one recently there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120471838191&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMESOX%3AIT Quote
