Merle Coggins Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 For the Milwaukee area/SE Wisc guys... August 9th is the date for the Waukesha Old Car Club's Annual car show at Frame Park in Waukesha. I drive past this show almost every year and think that one of these times I'm going to attend or participate in it. Well I believe this is the year. I've been seeing their signs out for the upcoming show, so I looked it up and have found that I have that weekend open. I'll be sending in my preregistration and will take the Ol' Dodge over there for the show. If anyone in the area is also interested, here's the links to their flier and registration form. http://www.waukeshaoldcarclub.org/car%20show%20poster.pdf http://www.waukeshaoldcarclub.org/new%20Park%20show.pdf Merle Quote
Dennis_MN Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 So Merle, are you going to register as class A or O? I'm checking, I may drive my truck there to visit my friend. Dennis Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 24, 2009 Author Report Posted July 24, 2009 I was contemplating that. I'll probably go with "A" Let me know if you're coming down. Merle Quote
Dennis_MN Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Merle Right now its a very strong possibility. I'd leave here on Sat, stay with my friend Charlie do the car show on Sunday and return home on Monday. I will send in my registration today and in Class A Looks like I'll take US 12 just past Madison and then hook up with 18 into Waukesha. It's about a 400 mile trek for this old girl. Maybe I'll have my tailgate "Dodge" painted by then Any other Wisconsin Pilothouse trucks? Quote
Dennis_MN Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I sent the registration in under class "A" Looks like a plan is coming together.... so I'll see you on the 9th Dennis Quote
jschultz Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Waukesha is not too far. I might see if we can make it. I wont be bringing my truck tho. It has compression problems. Need to tear the engine apart I think. Quote

Merle Coggins Posted August 10, 2009 Author Report Posted August 10, 2009 Well, it was a nice show until the rain came... Dennis drove his truck down from MN (400+ miles without a problem). So, counting his truck and mine there were... count 'em... 2 Dodge trucks at the show. Plenty of Bowties and Blue Ovals, but only 2 Dodge trucks in the entire show... and they were ours. Dennis had a spot with a nice view of the river, better shade, and an unobstruted breeze. I was a row back, so I hung out near Dennis' truck when I wasn't roaming around. Here's a few pics of trucks of interest... to me anyway. A '37 Studebaker A '41 Chevy on a 4X4 chassis with a 6.2L diesel. The engine was a tight fit, but it looked good. A nice International Scout And a '61 Forward Controls Jeep Quote
Dennis_MN Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 (edited) I'm still on the road back to Monticello, tonight I'm in Eau Claire, WI. My friend Charlie Miller rode back with me with his Scooter in the back of the truck. So after a good nights sleep we will part ways and he will head back to Waukesha on his 650 Burgman and I to Monticello in the Dodge. Trouble free so far at the 670 mile point. Here are a few pictures from the show....and of my load Two Pilothouse Trucks Merles Truck Merle in the shade New Tailgate Paint Scooter as the load Sullivan in Sullivan Here is a link to the rest of the pictures http://s126.photobucket.com/albums/p85/Dennis_MN/Waukesha%202009/ Edited August 11, 2009 by Dennis_MN added photobucket link Quote
jschultz Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Merle and Dennis Thanks for bringing your trucks. It was great meeting you and seeing two Dodges that are actually driveable and look really nice. Some day mine will be in that category. Jeremie Quote
