greg g Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 This on a later carter afb 4bbl. Does the choke just need a momentary zap to activate it or does it need power all the while the ign is on. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 If its an electricaly heated choke then you need power after its running to open the choke. If its on a mopar 8 I think there is also a timer to shut if off after it has had time to open fully. Quote
greg g Posted July 21, 2009 Author Report Posted July 21, 2009 this one has a fitting for plumbing in a hot air supply from the cylinder head. At least that is what I think is hapening. The carb is a GM applicatioin and the engine is studebaker. There is a tube that hooks to the air cleaner conects to a metal that goes down into the cylider head, loops back out and feeds the port on the choke housing. So I am thinking this works more on the juice to close, ad engine heat to open. Quote
