any one know where i can find a replacement ignition switch for my 1951 dodge pickup? doesnt have to be stock, just a good replacement. thankyou,clifford

They show up on e-Bay ocassionally. Also look for one with the key or you will be set back another $25 to have it keyed.

Most of the bubble pack stores will sell a universal ignition swith for 15 to 20 bucks with 2 keys. Their only draw back is they lack a turn to the left acc position.

Most of these are probably from the Chinese Embassy or Hecho en Mexico.

thanks guys, i finally found one a a carquest parts store with a left turn accessory terminal for 18.00. pt #53-27582 in case any one is looking for one.

My truck had its ignition switch mounted above the original location since that one required a 3/4" hole, not the larger hole of the original switch.

The switch was bad so got a replacement cylinder and switch from NAPA and figured I'd put it back in the original location.

I was surprised to find the replacement switch didn't come with a bezel. They don't sell those - in fact, nobody seems to.

I got a bezel off a complete switch eBay - it coming from a mid 60's Mopar, I am not sure if it is 'period correct' but it certainly looks very good.
