MacGyver Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I've been toying with the idea of skirts myself, and just last night I did a search and came up with this thread from back in March: http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=14447&highlight=fender+skirts Quote
claybill Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 thanks mcgyver. i will look at some on p-15's at the next meet in wisc. i have scared 'feet' on this skirt deal. they dont always fit snugly. bill Quote
MacGyver Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I have the same concerns about the fit and I haven't seen enough on 'our' Mopars in person to know if I want to pull the trigger on a set. Sometimes pictures just don't do justice. If I don't get to enough car shows this summer I may just have to trust the Forum, choose a brand or style, and hang em' up. Mark Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) I bought these steel skirts on ebay sometime back for $125. When received, they had no mounting things on the back side. Had slotted fasteners the missing items would attach to the skirt with. So, I got a couple pieces of 'L" bracket at the lumber yard, about 1" wide, cut them to make a couple straight pieces, attached them to the top slot with a large head bolt and a nut. Then I did the same thing I had done on a P15 coupe back in the 1970s-- drilled a small hole in the front edge and rear edge of the skirt.....and secured them with a small screw and chrome grommet. Painted the head to match the car. Called it good. I realize most people won't want to do that, but it made the skirts usable for now. As my car was in some sort of wreck before I got it, and the body work was fair.....but not perfect, the right rear fender has a bit more bow out than normal. So, to match the skirt up, my son-in-law actually put it over his knee and bent it slightly to make it fit that contour. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/BobT3/Petey%20Plymouth%201/100_3850.jpg[/img]"]http:// Edited June 2, 2009 by BobT-47P15 Quote
claybill Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 bob...they look like the right kind..right flare etc. i have seen several with different flares and fit. metal ones are bendable! f/glas ones are shaped better...... i hope the summer 'swaps' unfold something. i am going to call about that wayfarer convert...did you notice anything about it..?? bill Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 That light green one? Actually seems fairly nice without doing heavy duty inspecting. It may have been one of the original "roadsters" as the door glasses have no wing window. The wing is a fixed piece of plexiglass. I believe the top on all those was manual. No rear seat.....similar to a business coupe. Here's the interior of the Wayfarer. A front view. Quote
claybill Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Posted June 3, 2009 bobt he wants 25,000+ for that roadster!!! has a v8 etc. skirts....something will come along. the calif f/glas ones might be ok..have to drill a fender hole to keep 'em on. bill Quote
Frank Elder Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 These are contoured, scroll down from the dodge selections. http://fenderskirtdepot.com can't vouch for them, just found em' Quote
