:mad:i went to tri city plating in elizabethon tn. to have my bumper straightened a month or so ago. i had my sister drop it off on her way to gatlinburg. when she dropped it off she was told she had to pay in advance, the guy gives her a receipt. i go to pick the bumper up yesterday and had the receipt the guy says that will be 130.00. i said i have already paid when i dropped it off you said i had to pay in advance. he says i dont do business that way if your receipt doesnt say paid you have to pay. i look at the receipt it has the amount the tax and total but he never wrote paid when she paid cash. she said she never paid any attention to the receipt to see if he wrote paid. so lesson learned the hard way but just a warning to anyone who deals with them in the future if you pay you better make sure he writes paid or you will have to pay twice. i guess the economy is so bad now people have to cheat lie and steal just to get by. but needless to say the bumper looked pretty good but damn sure wasnt worth 260.00.

people are like that all over, when I started my truck project I gave a shop here in las vegas 12,000.00 up front to do all the frame work and susp ended up getting the framed boxed and the front and rear susp mounted but the susp was 1/4inch off then one day no more shop all the projects there but no shop the owner of the building had to let everyone in one saturday and get there projects.

like i said lesson learned but he wont have to worry about my business nomore. i had told a buddy of mine they could probably fix his bumper but i will be telling him today at work to look elsewhere unless he likes to pay double. i guess you just cant trust anyone anymore. your situation sucks worse than mine. thats alot of money to pay someone in good faith and then get screwed. thats whats wrong with the world today no morals left.i guess where i am from a small ole kentucky holler we trust people way too much. around here if someone tells you something you can take it to the bank 99.9% of the time.

I think that's why I like this hobby-I like the way things used to be. Traveled at 45 mph and we were happy. You could do business on a handshake or you didn't do business with that person. That's too bad about the bumper-but what goes round comes round. He'll try that game with the wrong person some day........

I've never heard of anyone having to write "Paid" on a receipt to show that there was money exchanged. The receipt in itself should have been the proof. Why would he have given a receipt unless money was exchanged? What a weasel.
