Bingster Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Hi Rodney. I'm curious as to how much movie companys pay to rent classic cars on location, and is it worth it? I'm in northwest Iowa and how does one approach this? Is there a list the studios keep or do you have to watch for who's shooting where? Thanks. Quote
TodFitch Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Way back in my younger days I was activities director for the Chesapeake Region (Baltimore) of the AACA. At that time, decades ago, you could tell the region that you were interested in having your car in movies. There was one or two people in the area that movie studios contacted for getting local things set up and the region was on those people's Roledex. So a studio looking to film in the Washington or Baltimore are would contact the film industry scouts in the area. The scouts would contact the car clubs. The car clubs would contact the members who had appropriate cars and indicated interest. Anyway, long story short, see if any of your local car clubs has been used by film scouts/agents to line up cars. And then join that club. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 You can watch the local news and local papers for ads. When the movie THE Hulk was filmed here they ran an ad in our newspaper, They said that my 48 P15 was too old and the 56 Cheby was too custom for them. Or you can list your car with a listing company like this one. http://www.movievehicles.com/ Dennis:cool: Quote
