Don Coatney Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 Do a forum search. I just did and came up with 25 hits this being one. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=14203&highlight=fluid+drive+replacement This has been cussed and discussed many times. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 Is the fluid an item that can be found at Tractor Supply Company???? I've forgotten the previous conversations. But, maybe Don's preceeding post has the answer. Quote
PatS.... Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 Don's got it. James Douglas has done the legwork and the research to determine the best kind of modern fluid to use in the old Fluid Drive. There are lot's of opinions out there, some right, but James has the research to backup his opinion. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=14203&highlight=fluid+drive+replacement (same link as Don's) Quote
48mirage Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 The responses and the links didn't really give you a clear answer. I use the valvoline tractor fluid and has worked well for 2 years. Review the Technical Tips section, near the bottom of the page there is some info on the fluid drive. http://www.merc583.addr.com/mopar/framesets/techtipframeset.html PS It will take almost 2 gallons to fill. Plymouthy Adams Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 but as I read it the recommendation is AW32 the same stuff everyone has been using for years...the AW22 with additives..what additives..stock or user added...? I know he said he would provide more on this later or by private querry.. Quote
