What kind of fluid do i put in my fluid drive

I have never added or checked it what should i do and what fluid should i use.

Don's got it. James Douglas has done the legwork and the research to determine the best kind of modern fluid to use in the old Fluid Drive.

There are lot's of opinions out there, some right, but James has the research to backup his opinion.

The responses and the links didn't really give you a clear answer. I use the valvoline tractor fluid and has worked well for 2 years. Review the Technical Tips section, near the bottom of the page there is some info on the fluid drive.

PS It will take almost 2 gallons to fill.

but as I read it the recommendation is AW32 the same stuff everyone has been using for years...the AW22 with additives..what additives..stock or user added...? I know he said he would provide more on this later or by private querry..
