Thomba48 Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Question again guys: Finding original stuff in Europe isn't really the easiest thing to do. I do have to replace my rear brake drums as they are not necessarily visibly but noticeable (braking problems) dented. Two NOS brake drums are just no "simply lying around" here somewhere in Germany. What rear brake drums of more recent models might also do the trick? thanks/ thom Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 What do you mean when you say the drums are "Dented"? The drums are cast iron and would break before they got dented. Are your drums pitted from rust beyond the point of having them turned? Or.........is it the backing plates that are dented? Backing plates are made of steel and will dent or bend. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 maybe he is referring to the fact that they be out of round or worn to the max safe turning diameter.... Quote
Gregammon Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 New drums should be available from Kanter Auto Parts. 76 NOnroe St, Boontown, NJ 07055 - 800-536-1096. Greg Quote
