JJs 1948 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Finally after nearly ten years of on again off again restoring my 48 B-1-B I decided to get serious this winter. I bought this truck as a basket case which included many new and NOS parts the previous owner had purchased. Started with the bare frame and went slowly on from there. The chassie and drivetrain is done, cab and box on the frame, everything is painted except the tailgate, and this past week installed the wiring harness, guages, and battery. So test fire day anxiously came Saturday and she fired right up. I have a good mechanic working on this with me in our spare time and he gets all the credit. Just thought I would let the forum know another Pilot House has come back again. Your help has been tremendous. Thank you all and more questions to come. Jeff in Michigan Quote
TodFitch Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Congratulations! That first time you fire up an engine that hasn't run in years gives a wonderful feeling that is hard to describe. Sounds like you are well on your way to having a very nice vehicle. Quote

Bob_Koch Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Not only should you have a personal joy from restoring your truck but there is a collective joy here as another pilot-house truck has been raised from the dead and is ready to be on the road again. Nice going. Quote
grey beard Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Jeff, You really don't need to take that extra step to get photos displayed here. Just write your message as you have been doing, then scroll down to the next frame where it says "manage attachments" or some such thing, and go to brouse, then pick the pic you want to upload and click the button. This forum makes it very easy to upload pics directly. Give it a try and you'll like it, I'm sure. Quote
