Has anyone seen or heard of a Hydraulic clutch setup for our mopars?.......the reason I ask is that I am in Oz & my car, a 1941 Plymouth Coupe obviously is RHD. I would really like to run a set of Fenton Headers and originally thought the front one would be the problem with RHD steering box clearance, but from all the pics I have seen and measurements it appears that the major problem will be the RHD clutch pedal, as when it goes thru its arc it travels past the downdraft tube, which is where the rear Fenton Header would live.........lol........I have been thinking about running pendant(hanging) pedals as my 1940 Dodge runs this setup( its a V8auto so no clutch pedal) and using an hydraulic clutch but while this style of thing is common with Oz cars, I have never seen or heard of a side valve mopar utilising this idea. By using hanging pedals it would allow me to get away from the stock chassis mounted clutch pedals arc, I'd just have to make up the clutch slave cylinder mount......and hanging pedals etc etc ......but.....lol......I might be able to run Fenton headers then....lol........has anyone got any thoughts about this?........andyd

Andy,

Here's a couple of pics of the hydraulic clutch on my truck. The engine and tranny came out of a '65 truck. (318 Poly with a 4 speed tranny) You might be able to fab up a bracket for the slave cylinder to make it work the clutch fork.

The lines aren't hooked up yet but I'm sure you can do that.

Hope this helps.

Anthony, nice looking Poly, I was hoping to see an Hydraulic Clutch setup on a side valve 6 tho'.........lol.....the Poly in my 40 Dodge uses the old cast iron Auto, its the side valve 6 in the 41 Plymouth Coupe that I was thinking about the hydraulic clutch for.......andyd
