Norm's Coupe Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 For anyone looking to buy an old car, now must be the time. I've noticed on the local Craigs List there are lots of them around here for sale, in various condition. Probably the same all over. Saw one guy that had 4 or 5 of them for sale. That said, the prices don't seem to be dropping though. Quote
1955 plymouth Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 I agree that now is the time to stock up on your classic rides. I have personally purchased three since the middle of Feb this year, going to look at number four next sunday. The first three were Plymouth, number four is a '51 Chrysler Windsor, 98% restored and he wants $3000.00 for the car. Perhaps if I sing and dance I will be able to do even better than that? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Sounds like a bargain, if his "restoration" work is good, and it runs/drives OK. Quote
radioguy7 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 It seems that people do have the cash to buy them. That 41 caddy I posted a few weeks back didn't last long. I made an appt to see the car but someone beat me to it and bought it the day before I was to see it. I didn't really need another project anyway. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 I know there's one less now. A guy stoped by and made me a great offer on the 54 Furd P/U so I sold it. Dennis:D Quote

Norm's Coupe Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 So Norm; You have been looking for a long time. What are you going to buy? Don, I have no idea. I'll know when I see it. Hey, it took me 3 or 4 years to buy my coupe after I started looking. Even after I found it in the paper it took about 3 or 4 more months before I finally decided to look at it. When I did look at it, I told the guy I'd take it on the spot. The way I look at it, it doesn't matter if a car gets away from me. If that happens, it just means it wasn't meant to be that I buy that car for some reason. Dennis, If you sold the pickup, does that mean the wife is keeping the 56 Chevy? Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Norm, The 56 Chevy is still For Sale. Dennis:cool: Quote
Don Coatney Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Norm,The 56 Chevy is still For Sale. Dennis:cool: Norm; You should jump on this! Quit kicking tires and go for it. Dennis might even make you a reasonable offer (far below your inflated asking price) for your koop:D Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted April 16, 2009 Author Report Posted April 16, 2009 Don, Dennis' 56 Chevy is a nice car and probably worth every penny he's asking. But.......that's just a tad more (or should I say a big tad more) than I want to spend. Quote
knuckleharley Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 That said' date=' the prices don't seem to be dropping though.[/quote']I just got a really good deal (in my opinion, anyway) on a all original right down to the paint 31 Plymouth PA coupe. Just wish I could find somebody to buy some of the Ford stuff I have sitting around the yard,so I could afford to work on my Mopar projects. Quote
