Tim Frank Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 from the parts I quick checked, can get all that at Advance Auto..come on guy..that stupid horn on the home page..somebody needs to grow up Wow...I think someone peed in Mr. Adams's corn flakes this morning.... They've been easy to deal with and reasonably priced for a couple of orders we've placed. Quote
Suddensix Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 He must give U.S. customers a better deal than his countrymen. Peter is about an hours drive for me but his prices are out to lunch. I have bought stuff from him on occasion but it hurts. Quote

I have bought stuff from him on occasion but it hurts. guess you corflakes tasted salty also.........lol.........no, but so many people fail to recognize that many parts for these cars are still available through your big box store at the corner and I have never seen them beat in price when compared to the so called (specialty make/model) folks...trust me..there are just so many sources and many retailers..the mark up on parts is ridiculus at times... These generic parts he list is ok..and if you lived close maybe the cost would be ok..but get real with the introduction to the web page..an a-oogha horm...just what century/decade are we living in..childish was my thought and still is...no way I could take his web page seriously Quote
Roadkingcoupe Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Catalogue seems identical to Bernbaums? Quote
Gary Manes Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 I bought several parts (two each) from them about five years ago. The first item I used was the flex line for the oil line to the fire wall for the oil pressure gauge. It did not last very long at all. Now, whether they made these or sourced them from someone else I do not know. I plan to try to find a local dealer to make any future ones that may be needed. I had purchased two of each part because I have my 1948 New Yorker and 1948 Desoto. So, I did have a spare to put on the New Yorker. The Desoto remains in the wings awaiting money and a decision as to whether she will remain original or get a modern drive train. Their prices are not cheap, so I think along those lines some of the negative comments concerning prices may be deserved. But, at that time they were the only source I could find for some items. BobT-47P15 Posted March 20, 2009 Author Report Posted March 20, 2009 I bought that same kind of hose from them, Gary. It is still working OK so far. Cost was about $15 as I recall. That was a couple years ago. They were the only handy place I could find it. I took my old hose around to various places in Joplin that make hydraulic hoses - and none could duplicate it due to the type fittings on the ends. Evidently they are old style fittings not commonly used today.....at least not for what the locals do. Quote
