H Suhling Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 My wife and I celebrated our 42nd anniversary today by taking our truck for about a three hour drive and a stop for dinner. Had no plans to go to any one special place just follow the ram on the hood and see where it would take us. First time I can remember doing that since I was a kid. Every Sunday afternoon after lunch we would all pile in the car and go for a ride usually ending up at an ice cream joint somewhere. Almost felt like it was Christmas as everyone we met seemed to have a friendly smile and a wave. Was a very enjoyable afternoon will do it again sometime but I won't wait so long for the next time. buds truck Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Harvey, congrats on not only a great idea, but for making the 42 year mark. In our time and society, that is quite and achievement. I am going on to 34 years this August with the best thing that ever happened to me. What a gal!!! Quote
woodscavenger Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 That's a good one......"Yes dear, the Ram guided us to this completely secluded, private, out of the way spot!" Was that the same line that started things 42 years ago? If so, I guess it worked!!! Quote
Young Ed Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 I agree with the hood ornament. I briefly drove my plymouth without one and it just isn't the same. After the crash last fall I was building it right down to the wire before storage but I stayed up a little longer to put that hood ornament back on for the drive. Quote
Bob_Koch Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Enjoyed hearing about your Sunday drive. And congrats on 42 years. I found these pictures and they seemed to relate somehow. Maybe a few years earlier?? Quote
