Most of the search engines I have used think I am asking about " being the first" like in line, not the metal working process. English is confusing. Anyway I thought someone here had referenced a website that had a tutorial or at least an article. The only thing I have learned is to have the metal clean. I bought the proper lead and think I use propane and even have the wooden paddle and beeswax.

Any info will be appreciated. Thanks, Frank

Their is an art to doing lead work. after you grind the metal you lightly heat the metal then quick like you tin the work area. Tin most often comes in a can and is powder and you use steelwool to apply it, it also comes in a form like solder. after you tin it you heat the area again and put most of the heat on the lead and kind of stack it on, not so much heat that it runs down the side, but enough to make it like soft putty then you paddle it out heating as needed. remember not to much heat or you might warp the panel. do a search for auto body lead work and it shoulg turn up some good reading.

Like the little green spacemen used to say "Take Me To Your Leader".

Maybe the ship needed a dent repaired.:D

Or.....you can lead metal to water, but you can't make it drink.
