billwillard Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Anyone tell me which is outside on the rear quarter window moldings of a 48 Dodge? Stainless moulding fit rear quarter window of 4 dr. One side has ridges and the other side is flat. I think this stainless goes between the rubber and body but Iam not sure of that either as I did not take apart. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Bill..am thinking on the cars Ihave removed this trim that the metal trim is actually flush to the body itself with the rubber sealing up against the trim... Quote
billwillard Posted March 3, 2009 Author Report Posted March 3, 2009 Tim, You are not getting my question. What you are saying is true but which is inside or which is outside? If you look at pic #3 you will see one side of the stainless rolls in. Does the roll go in or out? Bill Quote
Ramon Angulo Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 The flat part goes to the inside, the groove part goes to the outside. The piece just slips over the metal edge. The rubber seal is attached to the window frame and is mounted from the inside. Hope this helps. Quote
billwillard Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Ramon, THANKS Thats what I was thinking. THANKS AGIN Bill Quote
billwillard Posted March 8, 2009 Author Report Posted March 8, 2009 Well I guess if I had ask the right question I would have gotten the right answer. I just got back from a 500 mile trip to look at a parts car I have in Charlottesville, VA. The stainless does not go in the window opening as I thought. It slips over the body opening. I tried to figure that thing out for three days and came home after a 500 mile trip today and installed both sides in less then 5 minutes. DAMN Bill Quote
