Don Jordan Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 I'll bet you guys will be glad when I finish my car so you don't have to put up with these silly questions. here goes:Restoration Specialties catalog lists "Unbeaded glass run Channels" and "Stainless steel beaded Channels" WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? In their on line catalog (page 11) they list Y630P and Y526 Stainless steel (Page 8) beaded glass runs 3-A-1 (pg 10) 5-R the only difference (and my math is horrid) is about 1/16" But that's enough to not fit. any suggestions? I'm almost done guys - Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 the beaded stainless has a stainless trim bead along one edge and the other will be painted..it will add a bit of snap to a car..I do not think your car had it originally...I bought my channel from Resto also..their is but one company that makes it...lots of the Mopar special size is no longer available and you have to somewhat make other stuff work..the good folks at RS will get you what you need though..they are very much in the know on this stuff and what will or will not work on your car..on the larger sticks..odds are if you measure your need they can cut it to your specifications and save you heaps on shipping..just be careful that when looking at channel that you pay close attention to the word RIGID..this stuff is NOT made to bend..if you have curves..you must buy the flexible..straight runs are reserved for rigid...like front glass verticle channel..also on vent applications on some models you need two pieces of molding to make the set... Xea737373 Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Where can I find Restoration Specialties? I'm looking for door/window channel for my wagon. I'd really like to find rear window channel..... Maybe they can steer me in the right direction. Quote
