As you may recall, a couple of weeks ago I munched my fender up while reversing out of a parking stall. Anyway, the fender has been repaired and the body shop matched the paint perfectly. The only problem is that something bled through the paint on top of the fender and I have to take it back to have it repainted. Other than that, you couldn't even tell that it had an accident. See what you think.

Bleed through

47,

The picture of the bleed-through didn't come through well enough to see, but the others did and the shop sure did a nice job on it. That's great!

Randy...I'll try to retake it in the sun tomorrow.

Looks like a professional job. The trim pieces sit really well, did you buy new ones or were the old ones straightened?

No...the old trim piece looked like a pretzel. It was beyond repair, in my opinion. This new trim piece was an extra I had. I think it's really for the right side, but to me they basically look the same.

looks good !

Not sure whether the two pieces are the same, I thought top and bottom is different but that could we be only for the rest of the trim.

John

Yeah, John...I think there is a difference on the top and bottom, but I'm just happy I had this extra piece. Well, off for my Saturday cruise.

Glad you got 'er fixed Darin. Every time you visited my place in CA, at least one neighbor would comment about that beautiful green car that my friend drives.

Yeah, I get a lot of compliments on that green for some reason because it's not a common color. The "older" folks remember the color, while the younger crowd just likes it. I've heard called everything from pistachio to seafoam green (even someone said Easter egg green ;)), but I know it's Seacrest Green, and that's all that matters, right?

Always reminded me of a mint green.

Reminds me of the colour of the roof on my '53 Plymouth, although I think 47 Heaven's colour is a bit lighter.

Hard to tell in the picture. But.....almost looks like they didn't get enough paint over the repaired section. Looks like it could be body filler used to do a little final smoothing out. Otherwise looks good.

As for the fender trim piece. I have two NOS ones for my coupe in a box. As mentioned, the two are different. However, the difference is so minute you really have to look hard to tell the difference. I don't think it matters once they are on the car. Not many people would ever notice the difference.
