sam knopik Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Finally worked the manifold off.. BFH worked. thanks. However, one bolt broke off in the block. How do I get that out? The shaft on the heat riser seems to be stuck how do these losen up or should I replace it? Thanks, Sam PS. New dash harness is completed and stored waiting to be put back on! Quote
MBF Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Sam I had the same problem when I replaced my manifold. I ground off the broken stud, center punched it, then the old drill and tap routine. While you've got it apart-you may want to replace the riser swivel pin, and spring if you can't get it loose w penetrating oil. Good luck. Mike Quote
greg g Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 on the host page of the p15 d 25 website there is a tech on repairing the heat riser. If any of the bolt is sticking out, you might try welding a nut to it. also if you can get some heat on it you can try to wick in some candle wax into the treads, kinda like swear soldering, the heat will suck the wax down in lubricating the threads.
