KJ's Dodge Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I am a ways out on my exterior but on my painted grill on my 48 B1-RA there is a little bit of evidence of a cream or white pinstripe. I think it is a single stripe. Were there any other stock pinstriping on these trucks? Would any one have some pics of grill with the correct striping? Thanks, KJ Quote
carl b51 Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 You might get a hold of Bud ( Buds Truck ) he has pin striping on the nose of his 53 looks like it was on there a long time and looks good on it. hope this might help Carl Quote
Merle Coggins Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Yes, the steel grill bars on the '48 - '50 have a "Dodge Truck Cream" pinstripe along their lower edge. Here's a pic of my truck in it's "original" trim. Since the overhaul I haven't redone the pinstripes, but I plan on getting them back on there. According to Don Bunn's "bible" on Pilot House trucks. the pinstripe is the same cream color as the rims. Quote
buds truck Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 my striping is not original, but this is what it is with the 52 Buick grille stuffed in the hole. Bud Quote
KJ's Dodge Posted December 31, 2008 Author Report Posted December 31, 2008 Thanks Bud! I got a good laugh out of that. What remains of my stripe is looks like it could have been a double stripe but it is really faded. Just curious if someone has there original stripes in good shape? KJ Quote
Reg Evans Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Here's another example showing the same treatment as Merle's truck has. This is a photo of the front cover of Don Bunns B-Series Truck book. Quote
