Stock Rim Size For 50 Plymouth?

Recommended Posts

As mentioned. Stock rims are 15 x 4.5. You can put wider tires on 15 x 7 rim. The widest that fit on a 15 x 7 may be too wide for the 15 x 4.5 rim. However, I believe the smallest tire that fits the 15 x 7 will be about the maximum width for a 15 x 4.5 rim. So.........not all tires that fit the 15 x 7 will fit the 15 x 4.5.

can you post a pic of the tire, I can't seem to find any site that show a 7.00 r 15. Looks like the tread width bing only a 1/2 inch wider than the rim width, your measurments shouldn't present a problem as the with is split equally on both sides of the rim.

aero,

Do a search of the forum. There was a thread sometime a few months ago that gave a link to a tire size conversion chart that gave all the old sizes. That chart also gave what size tires are safe to use with what size rim. Thought I had bookmarked it, but guess I just printed the chart instead and don't have it handy now. At any rate, that chart should answer your question. Might even find it on a tire site like Firestone.

I finally have a set of wide white walls!!! I won the www on ebay tonight. They are the tires I mentioned above. Hopefully I will be able to pick them up tomorrow and get them mounted some time this week. I will post pics soon
