Bill Ford Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Have any of you used Robert's weatherstripping? He has some other items I need and was considering his weatherstripping. Who has the most like the original? Quote
daddyo23 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I bought from Roberts last year and it was decent stuff. I'm sure Steele is better, but Roberts looked like original and is holding up. I was happy with it. Wayne P. Quote
Bill Ford Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 Steele is probably the best and about 4 times as high. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Steele's rubber for this application is as generic as the next supplier...so..why pay the price...check with Clester's on this one... Quote
Bill Ford Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 Tim, I am not familiar with Clester's. How do I reach them? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 start with an internet search...his name is the top search for the Yahoo engine... Quote
steveplym Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I used the Roberts weatherstripping on my P-15 this past summer Bill. It is cut to fit stuff, but I am satisfied with it. It works great and goes on pretty easy with good weatherstrip adhesive. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I will say this when putting it in place..do not stretch it out.. but as you get rather quite a bit extra for the most part..just place it as natural as possible and in the corners if you can bunch it a tad..you may be better off as it will shrink a tad over time.. David Maxwell Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 ...does not exist I had the original in a couple of P15s that I've owned and it was a very unique weather strip that Mopar used. It had steel clips embedded in the bottom. The prongs would clip into the lower door panel. As Tim mentioned, Steel Rubber's weather stripping is generic. In fact, I downloaded their cutaway image, printed it and took it to a Pep Boys (before they went out of business). I found an exact match there for far less than any specialty shop. That was seven years ago. I installed it a little over two years ago and it has held up beautifully. Do take Tim's advice on installation. Better to have a little extra at the end and bunch it rather than stretch to fit. Like he said, it will shrink and pull away leaving a gap. Quote
