Tom Skinner Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 Timing First with a Timing Light. Last set Carb with a Vacumn Gauge. Guessing never seemed to work for me, you, however, may get lucky, but I never did tweaking it by ear, for what seemed like forever. Let the Tools do the work. There is great satisfaction in learning how to use them. Good Luck. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 I think he has about corrected it for the most part with the ignition condenser and such...however I still hold firm on timing may be an issue. As for the accelerator pump, its prime function is only to provide a burst of fuel to keep it from falling flat while you transistion from the idle to run circuits of the carb..if he gives it the gas..it sorta bogs then recovers..accelerator pumop would be my call but then again..ensure that the timing is spot on first..however a particial blocked fuel jet can still lead to a great deal of stumbling due to leaned out condition..
