Driving west from Texas through nm arizona to barstow it was all I could do to keep on track! So many cars on the side of the road, so little time. Lots of salvage yards too, large and small. One of these days I am going to tell esmey we're going to porterville but I'm taking the flatbed instead!

Norm, looks like you are having a great time with your retirement in New Mexico. Scenery in the fourth picture looks lovely. I imagine old car bodies last well there althought interiors and paint probably suffer from the sun and heat of summer. Thanks for posting the pictures!

Norm,

Thanks for posting the photos, always enjoy seeing "old iron" from other parts of the states.

I have one son and his wife who live about an hour or so southwest of Oklahoma City. We have been out to visit numerous times and each time I am amazed at the number of old vehicles that just sit along the roads. Other than sundrenched paint and smokey glass they appear to be in great shape compared to what is available here in New York.

Isn't retirement great, almost six years for me now since I retired. Loving every minute of it.

Enjoy,

Bob

Thanks guys, I'm really enjoying it. Those mountains are called the Floridas (pronounced Flor-ee-da) here. At the left end of them, which is the northern end, is where my little house is located. I'm not living in that house yet, I have a great tenant paying my mortgage for a few more years. For now I'm sharing a double wide manufactured home with a buddy of mine. Life is good.
