kevinanderson Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Hope someone can help out on this. Will the rims off a ton '48 dodge fit a '48 Ford F-5? Just doing a search and reading about the widow makers. I picked up a '48 Ford truck and don't want to mess with those rims. Have a set of rims off a Dodge truck and hope to swap them out. Quote
Big50Dodge Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I would think so - as long as the number of lug holes is the same. I've seen photo's of the larger trucks - non Dodge - of that era, and lots seem to have the same 5 lug pattern. Don't know about all of them however. Likely, there are year differences. Ford may have changed to 6 lugs in 50 where Dodge remained at 5 lugs for example. Quote
4852dodge Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Ford, International and Dodge used the same 6 lug pattern for their 16 in truck wheels. Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I think 50's Dodge 3/4 ton rims will fit ford 1/2 tons. 5 on 5 Quote
MBF Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 If you're looking for 5 hole 20" drop center rims for the F-5 they're out there. Locking ring are probably more plentiful. I know for a fact that they interchange on the F-5 my tires and rims came off a 70's vintage IH. If you're looking for 6 hole 16", Ford and IH also shared bolt patterns on those too. Mike Quote
