Normspeed Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 How old is Robin in Whitworth years? Quote
Robin (UK) Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Hey Guys, THANK YOU. I was 44 years young, yesterday. I'm enjoying my second (maybe third) childhood... And I had a great birthday. My son, Henry, (8 years old) was invited to a 'Laser Quest' birthday party. It was at a leisure complex so while the kids played, I and a few of the other dads had a couple of games of ten-pin bowling, then followed that by shooting some pool. My wife stayed in the bar with the mums. After that, Henry and I did some skateboarding. Yes, really! More info on that, below. Then the three of us went out for an early dinner before heading off to my mother-in-laws house for a family get-together. So far I’ve shared three birthday cakes and enjoyed the sort of birthday I’d have had when I was 16! Brilliant! R. I started skateboarding again four weeks ago. Decided I’d add it to my new fitness (fatness) regime. I got my (vintage 1970s) board out of the loft, fitted new wheel bearings and rubbers and I’m re-learning all the stuff I did many years ago. I’ve been amazed at how quickly I’ve got the basic technique back, after a gap of about 25 years. Already riding 6ft ramps and enjoying basic riding of bowls and half-pipes. But I’ve go SO MANY aching muscles, it’s unbelievable. Also a fairly impressive array of bruises. I’ve taken a few heavy spills, so helmet, pads and wristguards are a permanent fixture! Henry is learning with me, and doing really well. Great fun!!! Quote
greg g Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 So you gonna need a bigger closet for all those new skater togs??? You know the baggy shorts with about 30 pockets, hung just below you bum, with the colorful boxers. Black T shirts with skulls and lightning, and several black skull caps. Oh and don't forget the shoes....... Just kidding, skate responsible, and Happy birthday. By the way if 60 is the new 40, is 44 the new 17??????? Quote
Robin (UK) Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 By the way if 60 is the new 40, is 44 the new 17??????? Must be. Don't worry about the baggy pants, etc. I'll just the the old dude in the square clothes. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Happy (slightly belated) Birthday, Robin. Sounds as if fun was had by all!!! Quote
