woodscavenger Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 I got the T5 kit from Langdons for my B1B. There are 4 mounting bolts on the T5 to drill and tap for the bell housing to make it work. 2 of them with be straight forward. 2 of new holes partially overlap the old mounting holes. Can I take this to a good welder and have the holes plugged then drill and tap? Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 I would think that Tom Langdon (being an engineer and such) would have the answer for you. What does he have to say about it? Pictured is how I modified my P-15 bell housing. Quote
Young Ed Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 Hmm I thought the T5 swap to a truck was supposed to just be drill 4 holes and go. Shane did you origanlly have a 3spd or 4spd? Quote
woodscavenger Posted October 2, 2008 Author Report Posted October 2, 2008 I haven't called him yet. I figured this out last night at midnight and I knew about 10 of you would be hovering around the boards early this AM so I posted the ???? I am not sure which tranny was in place. The truck was not driveable when I got it. I think it may have been a 4spd....I remember sitting in the bench seat making engine noised and shifting the gears!! I think it had 4 and reverse.....but that was a year ago so my memory may not be correct. Quote
Young Ed Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 Whew that helps me cause I was planning this same swap on a 3spd bellhousing. Quote

(1ST) VARooom, (2ND) VARoooom, (3RD) VARooooom, (4TH) VARoooooooom..... So was reverse........ mooooooooRAV (VER) Quote
Young Ed Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 If you go to fast I think you have to switch to the whinning noise. Quote
woodscavenger Posted October 2, 2008 Author Report Posted October 2, 2008 I thought it was RrRrRrRrrrrrrKKKKKKK, rrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRKKK......that's why I wanted a T5! Quote
