BobT-47P15 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 While in the small salvage yard near here a few days ago, I noticed this car still had the drain hose in place, as well as the clamp that holds it. Just putting this here for anyone who might could use the info. I had forgotten about that clamp. Also, this one shows the 4 rubber bumpers on the fender edge, which go against the hood. The front one is wafer thin, the other 3 are thicker. Quote
Young Ed Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Looks familiar. Mine has a metal elbow between 2 pieces of tubing. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Bob, thanks for the hood bumper pics, you may have solved my problem for me. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 My drain hose is like Ed's. Has the elbow, then the hose attached to it. Niel, You can get those bumpers from any of the rubber seal supplier. I bought a whole set from a rubber seal guy at a swap meet for a lot less than what you see them go for on ebay, etc. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 26, 2008 Author Report Posted September 26, 2008 I bought some bumpers the seller said was for the hood of our P15s.....but they are not as tall as the edge of the fender. So they really don't do anything but fill the holes. Need some taller ones to actually work. I need to measure one of the originals so will know just how tall they are. Quote
Young Ed Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I got some that are quite similar to them at the local do it best hardware. If anyone wants a set I could check mine out for more details. I think they may have been just a tad shorter but they were working just fine on my coupe Quote

Bob, That's what I did before going to the swap meet. Then I just went to one of the trailers that sell rubber seals. Had all different sizes in the drawers inside the trailer. You seem to hit a lot of swaps so you shouldn't have a problem finding them once you measure for size. I think I bought a couple extra for spares. I'll check, if I did I'll measure them for you.
