maurice wade
I have a 46 P15, was doing some painting on the engine compartment, and noticed the generator had something like a compasitor on top of the generator. The compasitor is disconnected. Does anyone know what this does, and where it is supposed to be connected? I was thinking maybe it was for electrical enterference. Thanks. M Wade A capacitor on the generator was a fairly common way to filter out the radio frequency static from the brushes from getting into the radio. If your car does not have a radio (or if you are not having problems with static on your radio) then you don't need the capacitor.
