Ramon Angulo Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 I have a 48 d24 with fluidrive. I had the original engine rebuilt along with the trans. and rear end. I love driving the car but it seems to be really low geared. the rear end is the original. Does anyone know if its possible to do a swap so that it is not so low geared? Or do I have to change the rear end. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 they are out there but hard to come across...try finding a larger DeSoto or Chrysler car with the 4 speed tip toes or M6 trannies..they can have 3.73 and as high as 3.54 gears..swap out just the pumpkin.. Quote
DonaldSmith Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 My 47 DeSoto with tiptoe trans has a 3.91 differential, numerically high, but maybe what you would consider "low". Hot off the line but reqlly cranking at road speeds. In my dreams I would have a numerically lower diffy. Quote
