55 Fargo Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Has anyone tried the Trinity 1945 Starfire Acrylic Enamel kits, they have a lot of nice colors, it is a good price, $71.00 for a 1 gallon kit, includes the reducer and hardener. They have a lot of nice colors, the down side is you have to pick one of there ready made colors, but there are quite a few of them to choose from. Just was wondering if anyone has tried this paint, I will most likely go with Centauri, but who knows, maybe this paint might be okay.....Fred Quote
Young Ed Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 For a driver the price sure seems right. I've heard a gallon isn't enough for cars our size though. Quote

It is about the same price. Cheaper if you use one of their colors and mroe expensive if you pick out a factory color. TCP Global is the name of the manufacturer. I've used DuPont and sherwin williams single stage enamels and only difference I can tell so far is the price. Here's a link. http://www.tcpglobal.com/restorationshop/rspcolors.aspx Quote
55 Fargo Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 Hi Steve, thanx for the info, looks like decent paint. Whats it like to worrk with ,does it spray on nice, is it real shiny, how much car, can you do with a gallon...........Fred Quote
steveplym Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 I would think a gallon would do the car Fred. It took a gallon of base to paint my car. That is not including wheels or interior pieces as I painted those with single stage enamel. I put on two coats of base on the entire car. I'm going to run out this week when I paint the bumper filler panels. So went right at a gallon. I put two coats of enamel on the parts I painted with it. So I would think a gallon would get you there. This stuff mixes 8 parts paint to two parts reducer, then 1 part hardner. So even with a gallon you should have some reducer left and another quart is about $36 if you would happen to run out. Paint sprays on really nice and is really shiny. Here are pics of one of my wheels and the interior pieces I painted with it. Quote
