'bout Time!! New Seats and Door Panels For The '51 Plymouth

I was so sick and tired of having such a beat interior that something had to give. So my lovely wife said she would cover the door panels, kick and rear panels and also the package tray. I made all new boards from my originals. She added the foam and material. Now this was to be temporary until I gathered up enough moolah to have a professional do it. So then I met Marlin, who I call "Jonny Thunders". He tore apart my seats and rewired a few of the popped springs then he covered them with gold and black vinyl. He did exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be any more happy. I'm taking it to him this week to finish the wind lacing and headliner that will be gold with black piping. I have to come up with an idea for carpet as I haven't really seen too many cars that I actually like the carpet. Oh well, we'll figure it out.

Here you go;

Ron;

Your car looks terrific. I will never ever again call your car a rat rod IF you send Jonny Thunders my way. :rolleyes: My head liner fell down on my Detroit trip and I currently have a stick broom wedged under it to keep it from hitting my head. Have you purchsed a new headliner and if so where did you get it? How will it fit with the chop?

Thanks alot guys.

Don, my man Jonny Thunders is making my headliner from scratch. He said he could make a headliner very quickly if he has the original one for a template. If you need one made let me know and I'll get you a price from him.

Those door panels are a perfect fit for your car. If you would have told me beforehand what scheme you were going with I wouldn't have thought it would work well. I would have been wrong! What color is the dash?

Rust and woodgrain but will be chromed as will be the garnish moldings.

Thanks. We don't plan on keeping the door panels but we'll see.
