Hi all, requesting your advice on a couple of things. I have recently bought a 1941 Chrysler (C-28 Royal club coupe with Fluid Drive and Vacamatic transmission), it's in great condition but I need to do a couple of things before it can go back on the road in May. 1) One side of the windshield has a huge chip and will need to be replaced for the car to pass its safety inspection. While getting that replaced, would it also be wise to source a new rubber seal and replace that at the same time? 2) I am going to put seat belts in it; my wife made that a condition when I bought the car not only for me but for our grandchildren ever going in it. Does anyone have any experience/advice on suppliers (especially Canadian ones) and what kind of kit/hardware will work well? Thanks in advance for any input you can offer.

I have a 33 Dodge DP6 sedan. The windshield has the guide tracks with large thumb screws on both sides and I have loosened those. Before I just put more pressure on the windshield to open it, I wanted to make sure there was not a trick to opening these, or typical problems with rust or seized hinges, stuck window seals, etc. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks again, MoparBoy

I have a 1937 Plymouth and I need to replace the rubber seal on the crankout windshield. I don't have the rubber yet, but I want to get a head start on learning how to do it. Also wondering if there is a rubber seal on the inside seating surface of the windshield frame as well as around the frame/glass itself. I can't seem to locate anything. It seems that there should be something there like a U channel. While on the subject of glass, how do you replace the side glass seals? Is it just the U channel and sweeper involved? What is the proper way to mount the glass frame rollers to the regulator track? Anybody come up with hardware-store supplies to replace the U channel at a fraction of the cost?

Found a couple blank cast aluminum air cleaner covers cheap and decided to give a go at creating my own dual air cleaner. The parts are identical and fit a 15" oval air cleaner. There's a center hole in each cover that will make it easy to sandwich the two together. Started by drilling out a couple oversized 2.25" diameter holes in one cover. Test placement shows that I have an interference issue with the choke actuators. So I've decided to get some 2.25" ID to OD exhaust pipe converters. Going to cut them down to create 1" risers. Then I will slice the large side of the pipe to give relief to add band clamps. For the other end, I will wedge the pipes into the new holes and then deform the pipe to remain in place. Anyone have any other suggestions for mounting? And on a totally unrelated matter, I pulled the old visor off last night in preparation for replacement with an NOS Fulton I got from Ebay. Wondering if anyone has found a source for the windshield clips? (besides the $15ea versions on ebay).
