  1. Hello everyone, I'd like to know if anyone has replaced the door sills or running boards on a P15 (I don't know the correct name, I attached a photo of what I am looking for). Where did you buy them? Were them any good? The ones on my car are in quite bad shape, and I can't think of any substitute. Thanks! Federico Barbieri
  2. Don, Do you have the photos that you attached on the first replay in a bigger resolution? Thanks!
  3. jhm1mc13 and greg g, thanks for the links! I'll definitely check them.
  4. Thanks for the photos, it looks great! The man from the body shop suggested to do something like the attached photos (the car is a 30s ford v8). But I'm not sure about it, specially the brown on the windows since that would also be the color of the dash.
  5. Hello!, I would like to ask you for a bit of help. My car, an export DeSoto SP15 equal to a Plymouth P15, finally is on a body shop to be repaired and painted. Hopefully upholstery will be done too. The car doesn't have its original interior, and we're having some doubts about the colors to use (the exterior of the car is black) for the seats, and mainly the roof liner, dash and upper part of the doors (around the windows). So, if anyone here who owns a P15 with an original interior (or redone with the original colors, or something close to that to get some ideas) and can post a few photos of the dash, roof, doors and seats, that would be of great help! Thanks! and greetings from Uruguay! Fede
  6. Hello everyone, Some years ago I got the attached image from the website (don't really remember if it was from a member or the resources section). I would like to have the book from where that image came from. It was very helpful, and there is a lot of disassembly/assembly to be done still. So I would like to ask for help identifying where that came from, so I can later search for it on amazon or ebay to buy it. The car is a DeSoto SP15C from 1946, it's an export model so i guess the manual can be of a Plymouth. Thanks!
  7. Thanks! I'll check them
  8. Actually, we got all the trim. We took everything out some years ago, as the car was going to a body shop. After we got it back, the project got stalled and now it's coming back. But every part of the car is in the garage somewhere. I think the only thing missing is one hubcap. But you're right, luckily it's all there because it would be hard to find!
  9. Thanks for the welcome and the answers!, I will check the resources section. About the car, it is indeed an export DeSoto, just like a P15 Plymouth apart from the badges and the front grille for all I know. Don't know about the block... is 25 or 23 inches the length? seems short... I will go an measure it
  10. Hello! I'm new here, so first I will introduce mysleft. I am Federico Barbieri, from Uruguay, and the car is a 1946 DeSoto 4 door. It's been on the family for about 60 years, but it was stored for 10+, and then became a slow, kind of start stop project. These days it has again got speed and almost all the powertrain is sorted, the brakes are new (discs in the front!), but all the body and interior is yet to be done. The idea is to use it as is as much as possible, and then start doing all the needed bodywork, and lastly the interior. Originality is not a must (as proof, the front discs), but usability is. Here in Uruguay there are no places to buy parts for the car, specially body, so here comes the question. Can you recommend some places to buy parts? Currently, the most needed would be (I believe in this order): Exterior mirrors (it only has the left one, I don't know if it is original... it doesn't look like it is. I also don't know if it had a right side mirror at any point, but in todays traffic it is needed), The rubber seals for the windows and windscreen (not sure if I am using the correct words, I mean all the rubber that goes between the glass and the body... some of the glass has seen better days), what goes between the rear edge of the hood and the top of the firewall, and the seal of the bootlid, Running boards I've checked ebay for mirrors, but got nothing quite like the one it already has. Is there some mopar specific shop that I should ckeck? The possibility to buy over the internet is a must, but delivery can be sorted. Attached is a current photo of the car! Thanks!
