  1. 1946 dodge d24 original dutch car parked in a barn for the last 15 years Wil be in my garage in two weeks As a bonus they throw in a 1950 business coupe in parts will send more pics when they arrive Fred
  2. There is a sticker on my rear window it says : INLINE 6 or NIX And yes I do have a hemi engine sitting in my garage doing nothing I keep that one for a future project. Funny thing is that on many shows and meetings people look at my flathead six and wonder what kind of engine it is and who made it. And the trophys I won with the car is because the flathead is still in it !! And yes, when many people change the 6 for a 8 I tend to go the other way and keep the six. Fred
  3. Gentleman, Looking for a manual for a 1941 dodge copy or original can anybody help me ?? Regards Fred
  4. I am looking for a 1941 Dodge manual , copy or original . Trying to get hold of one overhere in holland / germany and no luck so far. Regards Fred

  6. Gentleman, This morning at the gas station : Regular unleaded per LITER : 1,64 Euro Diesel per LITER : 1,44 Euro LPG per LITER : 0, 63 Euro Overhere it is not the oil company who make the big profit , it is our governement : 73 % is Tax on fuel !!!!!! I converted my 50 Buzz Coupe to LPG Fred
  7. Went last week-end to a car meeting in a small village in belgium called Stekene. They had a fund raiser for a local hospital by means of a hair auction, people could bid on your hair and for the right price you walked away bald headed. Good thing whas that they shaved you in the middle of the village square right in front of the pub !! Still wonder why they gave me that baseball cap with the Titanic logo ??
  8. My wife owns a 1962 chebby nova and the car is a real rust bucket, she tryed to get me restoring the car for her. i explained many times that when a old boat is sinking you have to stop pumping and let her go. This explanation did not make me any more popular around the house, so in one of my bright moments I decided to get rid of the chebby and find her something else instead. I bought her a 1978 Dodge pick up and now I can cook my own dinner because she is so happy with driving her new car !!!!
  9. All the camping gear and beer on board in the car with the original 3.54 rear end sloppy spring bushings and all. scary ride lifting at the quarter mile mark and rolled out like a top fueler with tyre shake. Changed the rear end to a 2.73 and renewed all the bushings and will have a go again later this year. Times will be better because the race track crew promised to look after the beer this time
  10. The rear axle is a 8 3/4 and the width is 2 inches less than the original so no problem and the tranny is the original 3 speed.
  11. The new rear axle is under the car, it took me a total of 7 hours work and i must admit it was much easier than i thought it would be. It took some time to get all the parts i needed to make the swap, I purchased a custom driveshaft on ebay and used a rear axle from a 1972 sattelite. The rear axle has 2.73 gears, in combination with the 265 Ci flathead it is a real highway cruiser now. it runs 70 Mph on 2500 Rpm and the engine has enough power to handle these gears. And it is a way to beat the gas prices overhere ( 1,60 Euro / Liter ) Fred
  12. Den Bommel The Netherlands
  13. Gentleman, Try this : U$ 8,50 a Gallon of regular overhere in the Netherlands Thats why I am converting to LPG gas ( 3,58 U$ / Gallon ) in combination with a 2,73 ratio rear axle. Fred
  14. Often you can find a double pulley on the industrial engines. Fred
  15. Congratulations Give the man a cigar. Fred
  16. Found this car in Antwerpen Belgium standing there for the last 27 years has 43 000 km on it. Has been used as a ambulance and a fire department support vehicle. More pictures : http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y185/fredsv8shop/sylvain/
  17. This is my old 217 engine from the bizz coupe, the arrow points to a hole in the back of the engine that is used as a lubrication hole for the gear box. I have been told that this is designed for the Chicago police as they where the only ones who used engine lubrication for there gearboxes. As you can see in the picture there is a small groove around the hole to accomodate a o-ring as a seal between the gearbox and the engine. I was not aware of this and installed a non engine lubricated gearbox behind the engine and went on hollydays to Sweden !! Gentleman let me tell you that the back of the car and the cars driving behind me got very greasy !! I was loosing 1 liter of oil every 100 kilometers !! I wanted to go to the old style week-end in Sweden and kept on driving ( 2400 km round trip ) and changed the normal 15/40 oil for 90 grade oil wich made me loose 1 liter of oil every 250 km !! Okay we made it but a closer look at that hole would have saved us a lot of trouble !!! (I dropped the oil pan 3 times during our trip and used lots of sillicone thinking the oil seal was leaking ) http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y185/fredsv8shop/

  19. Stumbled over this engine in someones shed, now it is in my garage and yes I am thinking about it ... My Buzz coupe with this engine !! The engine came out of a wooden launch boat that whas destroyed during transport, it fell of the truck damaged the boat beyond repair but the engine does not have a scratch on it. The only thing is that I have to change the engine's power take of from the front of the engine to the rear of the engine, and a few more little things....(?) http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y185/fredsv8shop/Plymouth/?action=view&current=19b283b7.jpg
  20. Met a gentleman in the eastern part of Holland and discovered 2 nice Mopars in his garage :
  21. Flat six hooking hard Fred
  22. Running the old girl on Santa Pod in the UK during hollydays just for fun, Meaning no prep at all, all the camping gear and beer still in the boot, fully loaded that is because Marianne packed the car for a 2 months trip while we where only going for 2 weeks. We run a 265 Ci , unleaded fuel and a non vacuum advance industrial ignition, a 3.57 rear end and 25+ year old tyres. And keeping in mind that we had to return to The Netherlands in one piece with the car had a restriction on my right foot !! The scary part wasn't driving fast over the track but decelerating after the 1/4 mile mark that was scary, I had the feeling that the car would do all but keeping a straight line I had to keep the throttle on and decelerate slowly and therefore needed the whole top fuel lenght of the track. But let me tell you it was a experience of a lifetime !! And yes I feel that without all the slowing down stuff in the car I can improve the numbers on the scoreboard bigtime. I will try this someday. Fred
  23. more pictures of the car : it is a 1954 model Monte Carlo http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y185/fredsv8shop/Demercruise%202007/
  24. A picture of the ORIGINAL Engine
