  1. I have had a real "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" moment working on my car. Although it was still running well, increasingly difficult hot starts in the warmer spring weather got me to finally take the plunge and order a Pertronix 2563LSP6 Ignitor and coil and do away with my points and condenser. Thinsg went together smoothly but when I turned the key, I noticed that the needle on my ammeter pegged to full discharge before I even tried to crank the starter. When I did, it cranked well but wouldn't fire. I immediately started to check things and only then discovered that I had been sent the wrong Ignitor (the 2563LS for 12 volt positive ground systems) and had also neglected to reconnect the negative wire that ran from the coil to the relay. I ripped everything out and replaced it all with a fresh set of points and condenser, but am still dead in the water. It cranks fine, but I have nothing at the points. Something tells me that the solution might involve re-polarizing the voltage regulator and/or the generator to get the electrons going in the right direction again, but I'm not sure that's the right thing to do, nor do I remember how to do that. Anyway, I hope the solution is something as simple as that. The only all MoPaR show in Vermont this year is coming up next weekend, and I would sure like to be able to make it. Any and all advice and suggestions are deeply appreciated.
  2. Thanx 48D. Background was nice, light was terrific and I just love to shoot pix of my D24.
  3. It's holding something up under there, Merle. I didn't look real close and like I said, I have no idea about the overall mechanical condition of these trucks. I just thought they made a good photo op with my Dodge and thought I would post here in case someone would be interested in them.
  4. Just going by the signs the owner posted on these trucks, Merle.
  5. I came across these two on the way home from a local show yesterday. The '49 is a ¾ ton and the '54 is a one-tonner..... They're both for sale in Hinsdale, NH for $1975.00 each. I have no connection with the seller and no idea if they run or not. I'll be glad to provide a contact number by private message on this forum to anyone who might be interested in them.

  10. Sure they did, Ray, and a durned handsome one at that, but I doubt if there are any fiberglass replicas of them out there. This one's from 1920....
  11. No, Don. It's a scan from my copy of the magazine. That's why I attributed it.

  15. Sure, that would make sense, but at least they're still "Powered by MoPaR".
  16. Thanx, Don. Cool shot of that D24 with the sign in the background.
  17. Looks like they did a good restoration on this one, Greg. I really did the big Chrysler "Quality Seal".
  18. I no speaka de General Motors. I was a TOTAL Aero-Train freak when I was a kid and this looks like a great replica. Got any details on it?
  19. Super cool! It's great to see it looking so good after so many years. Do you know if it's still got the flathead/Fluid Drive drivetrain? (Pun not intended)
  20. Sounds good to me, hendo. Glad you got a grin out of it.
