  1. nice looking work Steve.
  2. If you are still looking for the wiper pivot posts, try: http://www.1953sale.com/Dodge-parts go to the bottom of the screen, select your year, when it changes screens, then select model again, see what comes up.
  3. Outer knob on right side changes the backlight color, correct?
  4. I'll try to take and posts some pics this weekend. BTW, I wasn't trying to get you guy's lined up for selling them, I will let them go mind you, I was just looking for a price range to see if I was paying to much from the junkyards. There's a yard here that waits till YOU pull the item, then they cross search it on ebay, then want to charge you more than what they found. If you dont buy it, they list it on ebay 2 days later. Nice free labor for pulling parts huh? One guy new to these trucks went there, pulled his parts, was quoted a very high price, told them to shove it, found it listed on ebay couple days later, won the bid for less than half what they were going to charge him in store from the same yard. I told him to skip shipping cost and drive there and pick the parts up, then tell them what he thinks. But he paid for shipping.
  5. I plan on putting an updated hidden stereo in both mine and the kids truck, but every time I'm in a junkyard, I pull the radios I see. I can't seem to help myself. I have 4 or 5 801 and 802's laying around I'm not going to use. Anybody got a good idea of the price range for these? Still hoping to come across the fabled 610T to hold for blackmail purpose with Reg and Bob.
  6. Barry, have you had a chance to mount the r/b brackets yet? BTW, nice job on the boards.
  7. OOPS! Forgot to look, sorry. Will try to remember tonight.
  8. I can really see the time and effort put into this, but..... Now, it's been up for awhile and STILL no bids! Somehow I don't think it's the silly starting price. Maybe he should part it out, course the only things worth still having would be the hood and rear fenders. Don't know if I'd touch the engine and trans.
  9. I thought down in Oz it would have been sold as a Fargo?
  10. Paul, I have 2 working spares. PM me if you are intrested.
  11. BTW, Sharp truck! Hope my kid's looks half as nice when done. I noticed in your pic there wasn't the "Dodge" emblem above the "job rated", am I to assume that's the correct way?
  12. $90.00ea? Thats not as bad as I thought. All the studs are there and good, it was just broken. Sounds like a good way to go.
  13. Here's a couple of pics of the emblems I just pulled from my kid's 54' truck. I was wondering if anyone here had a spare they could part with. I just did an e-bay search, and for the first time, I didn't see any listed. Besides, I don't want to pay a couple of hundred dollars for something I would still need to have refinished. I think you all know who I'm referring to. Also, it didn't have the "DODGE" script on the fenders, just the "job rated", should it? I didn't notice a mention of it in the C-series resoration guide.
  14. Here, this might make you a little woosy though.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/53-CAR-54-55-56-57-Dodge-Truck-NOS-MoPar-HOOD-ORNAMENT-/140118415542?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item209fb558b6 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/54-55-56-57-Dodge-Sweptside-Pickup-Truck-Hood-Ornament-/150490272140?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2309eb518c
  15. I'll have to confirm tomarrow, but I believe I still have a set of those in the garage I'm not going to use.
  16. The Hollander Parts Interchange Manuals are also a godsend when it comes to all things old. I have the 3 early versions that cover 1917 thru 1966. If anybody needs some info, just let me know.
  17. This is what was used for automotive diagnostics before onboard computers were installed in cars. Auto shops, including dealerships, used these. You can map out your spark curve, tune up checks, ect...a whole lot of stuff can be done with this machine, provided all leads are there. Later you can upgrade them to also work on OBDI series vehicles. Dangit, I hate being broke!
  18. Just goes to show that Mecum is just about the money. They don't appear to check what the vehicle actually is, or true condition. "Restored to original" is a complete falsehood with them as well. I was watching an auction on tv the other day and they had a 1926 Dodge Station Wagon w/original 6cyl. OK, looking in my ref books; Dodge Brothers didn't have a "station wagon" it was a screen side, and when did the 6cyl come out, not in 26 to my knowledge. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I've gotten kinda jaded by all the hoopla around auctions nowadays. Silver State auctions are just as bad. Sorry about the soapbox rant.
  19. the weld in crossmember is at: http://www.welderseries.com It's not a Dak crossmember but a MII
  20. here are the pics. as you can see, it's a single speed unit. hope this helps.
  21. figures, been looking for one for 5+yrs now, course it shows up when I'm broke
  22. BTW: single speed wiper mtrs have 3 wires, 2 speed has 4 wires. Looking at your pics, it's a single speed unit
  23. I haven't thought it much, but my cab is disassembled right now. If you want, I could try to take some pics of the wiper motor and mounting hardware tonight.
  24. What parts are you looking for? I also have 2 53's and a 54'. I'm using one of the 53's for a parts truck. You cam PM me with a list if you want.
  25. My front brakes seized, then I was able to do one with very old bias ply with the 230. Right before I pulled it to send off for machine work. I won't say it was a big burn out, but it was neat seeing that old truck with tire smoke!
