On the front of my generator there is a oiling place with a flip top. On the rear it looks like a place to oil but has a plug. How much oil and how often? How many places do you oil? What about the plug? My car is a '47 P-15.

Jim, I have a Battery Minder and have had it for 5 or more years. I had a question just recently and called their 800 number. I was told the battery had to be at full charge for the green light to work. It does not charge a battery but maintains it.

Just installed the radiator from the shop and noticed a small amount of water coming from where the top hose piece mounts to the radiator. It does not appear to be soldred but maybe rivets and a gasket. Can that piece be soldred or not. If not , how do you repair it? Plan to take it back off tomorrow and take it back to the radiator shop.

I have seen some time ago seat covers for older cars advertised in Hemmings. Have not seen any advertised lately. I am restoring my P-15 and would like to make do with the seats untill my billfold recovers. Does anybody know who has these old covers. They were advertised for under a $100.

The fender welting that goes on the rear fenders of P-15 's is stainless steel. The part number from Robert's is P-70 and the price is 59.50 a pair.

Are all oil air filters sealed? Do you have to damage the air filter to convert it to a dry filter? I saw something posted on this but nothing was mentioned about modifying the old filter .

Where can I find the info on what type of cartridge to use in my P-15? My car did not have one , I found one on a parts car and want to use it.

How do you service the universal joints on a P-15 drive shaft? Mine have the rubber boots on it and one is cracked. Is there a way to grease them? How do you replace the boots and are they available?

Retired from AT&T in 1986 after 35 years service. Have had a P-15 for 23 years and now have it under restoration. Wish you people had warned me of the expense involved. Have good health I think and blessed with a great wife , three children and six grandchildren. Live in upper South Carolina.

Welcome Carl, you have done good. That can be made a fun car plus a thing of beauty. You are lucky and you will learn a lot from working on this car. Don't hesitate to ask questions, there are a lot of knowledge from a great group of guys on this forum. Best of luck and Merry Christmas.

The hole is at the rear bottom. I am sure that is the first of many to come. Does any body make a replacement for the P-15? Almost afraid to ask.

Have any of you had any luck with the gas tank repair sealer? I have a pin hole in my P-15 tank and have put a band-aid on it. Surely there are other places ready to pop open.

Have any of you used Robert's weatherstripping? He has some other items I need and was considering his weatherstripping. Who has the most like the original?

I notice a lot of venders have weather stripping for doors. Was going to order from Robert's but received a discount from JC Whitney. Has any one on a P-15 used J C Whitney weather stripping?

I called this place about 2 weeks ago and was told they would rebuild my clutch,preasure plate and a new new bearing for $75. plus shipping. Talked to a local place in Greenville, S. C. and they rebuild the clutch for $40. Good luck. Bill Ford

The Firestones are a lot more now. $145 for black at Universal. Do you know if anybody makes 16 inch radials.

Has anyone used Lester tires? Talked to someone at Universal Tires and he said that Lester tires @$129 and Firestone tires @$149 were made at the same place. Where is the best place to buy 600-16 wide whites?
