  1. Thanks James for your offer, have send you a PM.
  2. Thanks boy`s now I have a lot of informations about a good BBQ and I am glad to know all this before we start the trip. The beer is a Thing for it self, I live in the Country of beer and I think the best you can drink is here in Germany and our beer is absolutely clean . The page The Day Tripper is very good to see some story`s about several town`s from Texas, very helpfull for us. Think we will do a trip to Fredericksburg, this is a town from German emigrants and there is a brewery, hope with good beer and if not maybe we drink shots .
  3. Very nice, thanks for the pic`s and congratulations!! It`s a good Feeling beat the Ford Flatty`s, we "fight" the same fight here in Germany and it`s a big fun for all .
  4. Hey Mark thanks for this, I will look at these sites and see what happens. Wish you all the best!!
  5. Hey Brian thank you for this informations, an original amerikan barbecue is a must have in our holidays and we will take this offer in Temple. I see you have a lot of project cars and one thing I visit Texas is to look for a Dodge Pickup with short wheelbase and a heavy rear end to put my flathead 8 in it for our german races. If you sale one of yours, let me know, than I visit you with some cash , or you know someone who sales a Dodge Pickup. Whats with Houston, is it not a good destination??

Hello All, sorry this is not a post for my car, but I will advise you that I have a trip in Texas from the 27.Sept. - 07.Okt. and it`s the first time for me and my wife in the USA and a long dream come true. Are there any meetings in this time in the Texas area for a Mopar Freak? We will drive from Dallas via Waco-Austin-San Antonio-Houston and back to Dallas. Hope you can tell me some activitys! Thanks and Regards Dirk

  8. ...yes I have take out the fluid drive for a better performance and now I have a regular clutch, 3 speed and bellhousing. I have the fluid drive and its not the problem build it back in the car, I also have another complet fluid drive from my 1949 Chrysler New Yorker parts car and if there where not 5000 or more miles between us, I would give it to you....
  9. Thanks John, the Studebaker is waiting for my time, it is the next resto projekt I hope in this summer. I will do a 1956 Studebaker V8 289cui in this 1936 Stude and hope he will look like the last pics from a ready resto There is only a little rust hole in the panels behind the doors left and right, all the rest is surface rust
  10. Aah, I understand, Tanks!!!
  11. Thank you all for answer, now I have found the 3.54 in a parts book and will show my axle tomorrow. My Chrysler has from stock the fluid drive, but last year I have build in a 46 Plymouth manual 3 speed, and have post in this forum, but can not find it again. The 3 speed works well, and I can drive 65 miles ever, but this is not my favorit to drive on highway, 50-55 miles in town or over the country is ok for me and better more performance in the first gear. This is my problem, have big wheels and a engine with a 2 carb Edmunds intake and last year one axle was brocken in the differential. Now I will buy better axles but do not know is this a 8 3/4 or 8 1/4 in my Chrysler and wich ratio because I will have a little slower ratio. What is a hoghead?? Dirk
  12. Hello, can anybody say to me what axle I have in my car and what is the stock gear ratio in the rear axle. I will get another ratio in the axle but first must know wich is the stock. Thanks Dirk

  19. a lot of work, but this can be a very nice looking coupe Dirk
  20. We have the first steps done and the Chrysler runs better and better. We have do check the ignition and setting up this, the idling speed was to high because the torque converter is not there and also we have to setting up the 2 Rochester a little. The engine and the car have a better performance now and we will see the result on the first 1/8 mile race in june, I am very fraught of this. My Chrysler is a orginal europe model from denmark, thats wy I have a kilometer speedometer, thats ok but it works not well with the 3speed trans... The gear ratio is not right with the rear axle, the car runs faster then the speedo shows me. In the next time we will test how much it is. Dirk
  21. Yes it is a copper line and it is a original, we have from the brake booster. The master cylinder ist from a Mercedes Benz light truck from the early 80`, because we can not repair the brake booster. I know there are options in the USA, but the shipping to you and back are very high. My master cylinder has a big plunger and I use him without a booster and it works good. We check the brake system and other parts every year and we work often under the car. I thank youse for the warning and I will be careful. Best Regards Dirk
  22. Thanks, this was a very good tip. Its a good Seller with fast communication and very helpful. I think they ship a rebuilt kit for my pump in the next days. Best Regards Dirk
  23. Here we are the trans is in the car!!! .... but ... there was a big problem with the bar under the body, we must also cut this for cleareness for the shifter also for the clutch mechanism we must build a spezial holder, because the other bell housing you see the shifter position in the cab, but I will take another shifter handle, this is very short today it gives the first drive!!!
  24. Hey, is there anyone who can help me with a fuel pump (Mopar nr.695 043) or a diaphragm (Mopar nr.699 801) for my 1950 Chrysler New Yorker C49 straight8. It would be nice if somebody has a reference. Thanks Dirk
  25. Thank you and yes thats all from us.... , hope we can for the first time drive the car this week maybe on friday. Regards Dirk
