  6. Thanks, from what i have seen so far this looks like the right place to be, and yeah my car needs a lot of work but i think with the knowledge people have here i am sure they can answer any questions i might have and help me make this car my daily driver again.
  7. well i was kinda in the same spot as your son, i thought my flathead took a turn for the worst and has been kind of a struggle finding parts for it so i got a deal i couldn't refuse on a 318/904 combo but the motor had been sitting outside uncovered for months so the first thing i did was put it on a stand and tore into it and checked to see what all i would have to replaced and realised i would be getting in over my head building the 318 cause not only would i have to rebuild it i looked into everything else i would have to do to make it work and realised i would have to get a new crossmember, rear end, fab a trans mount, driveshaft, brakes and probably new shocks, steering column, cut a hole in the floor pan and pretty much rebuilding the car from the ground up, so needless to say i decided to keep the flatty and if i need more power i can always get a new head, intake, exhaust and be verry happy with the performance a lot cheaper.
  8. Here's a picture of her
  9. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! a little back story on this car: I purchased this car from a friend and local car collector about 3 years ago, this poor car just sat and rotted in a field for i am assuming 10+ years, she was in pretty poor shape and still needs work but when i got her the guy i bought it from didn't even know if it would run, well after about a month of cleaning her up and cleaning her out and tinkering with her i found out she will run and her maiden voyage was to a local car show. after a while of hiding it in alleys and behind buildings (i was living in an apartment at the time and it had no room to park her and my landlord was seaverley against working on cars) finally moved into a house with friends 2 years ago cause my friend agreed that the garage would be mine to use along with a spot in the driveway to work on her and get her running. She ran for a little bit and was my daily driver until new years day last year she crapped out on me and i limped her home and she sat in my driveway and didn't run till about a week ago and after going through the ignition trying to fix anything that could have been the problem i finally got her starting and idleing well but i wont know how she drives until i get some tires and take her for a spin. sorry for the novel and i will try to get some pictures up soon
