  1. Can anyone tell me where I can get the course tread bolts and the clip nuts used for the fenders and body panels through out my B1B? I tried the big box stores, but no luck and I have not seen them in parts cataloges. Maybe I am just not seeing them. Any help would be great, thanks
  2. Thanks, for that info Grey Beard, I will get some of the 3-M stuff.
  3. Could you give us the stock # of the material and the address of the rubber supplier or a web site?? Thanks
  4. I am wondering the samething. The welting on my B1B was sort of soft and spongy and compressed and filled in any small voids. I have not seen anything like that in the parts catalogs. The fender welting I got for the rear fender seems to be a vinyl that will have to be cut to make it curve. I am sure many of you have replaced the front fender welting and can steer us in the right direction. Thanks
  5. Thanks for all the replies. After reading all the stuff from Blueskies and the trouble shooting of engine noises, I believe that my knock is main bearings. I have good oil presure at start up and start to lose it as the engine warms. When under real hard load, the knock is there but not real loud, however when you back off it comes back with a vegance -- no knock or engine noise at idle or not in gear. I did have some clutch chatter and found that the rear motor mounts needed to be tightned. Chatter is now gone, but engine knock is still there. I will drop the oil pan and check all the bolts on the flywheel and clutch and then all the bearings. I'll let you guys know what I find. It will be a few weeks before I get it done. Thanks again for your input, I'm sure I will have many more questions.
  6. I have a 48' B1B with a 53' Plymouth engine that I believe needs main bearings. If I,m doing that I may as well do the rod bearings also. Has anyone done this with the engine in place? If so please rate the difficulty of this work. Thanks
  7. Reg, I will take it. Where are you located? I am in Sanbornton NH 03269, let me know what the shipping will be and we can go from there. Thanks
  8. I just got a 48 B1B and there is not an oil filter on the motor. I can see that the previous owner put plugs where the oil lines came out of the engine. Does anyone know where I can get a original style oil filter or should I try to use a newer spin on type filter? Thanks, any help would be appreciated as I am just starting out in this old truck game.
